During this second Zoom session on this topic, we will once again be taken through a summary — with commentary — of more of Jacques Ellul’s most famous book, The Technological Society, led by Laurie Johnson, Professor of Political Science with a specialization in political philosophy. 8 pm - PSL Action Network - March Webinar

The PSL Action Network (Party for Socialism & Liberation) is holding a webinar tonight to discuss the state of the economy. Trump’s war on Iran has already horrifically killed thousands of people, and it is only continuing to escalate. The war is simultaneously creating a global economic crisis. The Strait of Hormuz, which borders Iran and is one of the world’s busiest trade ways, has largely been shut down. This has caused a massive spike in oil and gas prices that people in the U.S. are already feeling at the pump. The war is similarly disrupting the trade of fertilizer, which could have a huge impact on the global food supply.

8:30 pm - Spirituality and Activism w/Texas Tom

Agenda: Cycle of Violence

This evening, Sean St. Heart will read from a powerful op‑ed he recently wrote and present a slideshow examining the cycle of violence created by war, empire, occupation, and domination. Focusing on the roles of the United States and Israel in the Middle East, he explores how militarism, dehumanization, and imperial power fail to create peace and instead generate trauma, hatred, retaliation, and ongoing bloodshed. Rather than treating violence as random or sudden, Sean traces how war produces the very conditions later used to justify more war. For Spirituality and Activism, this topic invites us to confront not only political systems but also the moral and spiritual consequences of empire. What does it mean to seek peace in a world shaped by domination? What happens to our humanity when entire populations are treated as disposable? And what would it look like to ground activism in justice, truth, accountability, and the belief that no people are expendable? This promises to be a challenging and deeply reflective evening on violence, conscience, and the spiritual call to resist empire.

About Sean Saint Heart: Sean St. Heart is a sociologist, philosopher, author, and co‑founder and vice president of Charitable Humans, a 501(c)(3) NGO focused on global social issues. Known for his work in social justice, he describes himself as an “inventive engineer of human empowerment,” working to amplify marginalized voices. He is also the writer, producer, and host of the Coup Save America podcast and has contributed to numerous projects aimed at advancing social change.
